America is the land of opportunity. But not for many millions of "minorities" living in the ghettos of our once-great cities. Many of their schools are disaster areas that are intimidating to both children and teachers alike. When parents come to the schools and say, "Give us just half of what you are now spending, and let us save our children by placing them into better schools," parents are told that this is not an option. Take it or leave it. Insanity!

What is even more insane is that anyone who tries to fix all of the above is told by the political mavens that this needs to continue to play out over the next several decades. It's simply not possible to re-build Rome in a day. This is, of course, a self fulfilling prophesy.

America has unfortunately veered off the course established by the Founders of this great nation, who established a system of government based upon the will of the people. Today this government is ruled by a Politburo known as the United States Supreme Court, as so aptly portrayed by attorney Dr. Mark Levin, author of "Men in Black - How the US Supreme Court is Destroying America." Somehow, in their infinite wisdom, these men in black cloaks found in our Constitution, "Congress shall pass no law prohibiting the killing of babies while they are being born." Insanity!

While there may be no constitutional remedy to the Court, we can at least remedy the underlying cause of this insanity. World renowned economist Dr. Milton Friedman compares America's educational system to the Politburo of the Soviet Union. Just as a nation's economy is doomed to disaster when run from the top down, so too education. People need to have free choice in education, so they can shop around for the best available, at the lowest cost, just as we do with everything else we purchase. And it works. We have the greatest economy in the world.

All the band-aid fixes that have been tried since the publication of "A Nation at Risk," in 1983 - at the cost of countless billions - cannot and will not fix this flawed system. This is like a plane without an engine. It will not fly.

With the coming election on November 7, we have the enormous opportunity to change this by merely placing a few strategic phone calls. Every Congressman, Senator and opposing candidate has received a copy of proposed legislation for the Equal Educational Opportunity Act. By leveraging your vote and influence on behalf of this legislation, you can rescue America from insanity.

If your representative or candidate is unfamiliar with this proposal, please take the time to read it to heir, and be sure to have it read back for accuracy. Leave your phone number and ask to be kept informed of any developments on this matter.

Opponents claim that this legislation will destroy public schools and force tax increases, but this has already been debunked by Dr. Milton Friedman. Read it here

Although only Congressmen and Senators can vote on federal legislation, it would be extremely helpful to get all candidates to publicly support it. The energetic support of your local officials for equal educational opportunity will have enormous impact upon federal officials, as expressed in the popular saying, "All politics is local." Your vote and influence is enormously powerful. Never in memory have we had such an opportunity as now, because the issues are so crucial, the candidates are desperate for every vote, and we don't need the drive-by media to get our message out.

Those pretty flyers that will soon be filling your mailbox may serve as your ticket to freedom. By calling the candidates behind those flyers, and respectfully sharing your plight and that of your children, and leveraging your vote on behalf of equal educational opportunity, you can cure this insanity!
